Frieze Festival in Regent’s Park

It is October again in the city, and the Frieze art fair has come to Regent’s Park in Central London featuring more than 160 of the world’s leading galleries. Frieze presents an opportunity to view and buy art from over 1,000 of today’s leading artists, and experience the fair’s critically acclaimed curated sections and Talks programme.

Frieze is a media and events company that comprises three publications, frieze magazine, Frieze Masters Magazine and Frieze Week; and four international art fairs, Frieze London, Frieze LA, Frieze New York and Frieze Masters; a programme of courses and talks at Frieze Academy, and frieze.com – the definitive resource for contemporary art and culture.

Frieze was founded in 1991 by Amanda Sharp, Matthew Slotover and Tom Gidley with the launch of frieze magazine, a leading magazine of contemporary art and culture. Sharp and Slotover established Frieze London in 2003, one of the world’s most influential contemporary art fairs which takes place each October in The Regent’s Park, London. In 2012, Frieze launched Frieze New York taking place in May; and Frieze Masters, which coincides with Frieze London in October and is dedicated to art from ancient to modern. In February 2018, Frieze announced the launch of Frieze Los Angeles, opening February 14-17, 2019 in Paramount Pictures Studios. In 2016, Frieze also launched Frieze Academy, a year-round programme of talks and courses.

The fair has returned to Regent’s Park to present the best of international contemporary art by emerging and established artists with a vast programme of events. The annual non-profit programme includes Frieze Artist Award, presenting new, site-specific works by contemporary artists; Frieze Film, new film commissions premiered at the fair; Frieze Music, the fair’s off-site music programme; and Frieze Talks, a dynamic series of panel discussions, conversations and keynote lectures. In the curated gallery sections, Focus features presentations by galleries aged 12 years or younger and Live is a space for performance and participation works. Frieze Sculpture is also on display until 7 October with 25 significant outdoor works. To attend, all tickets are limited and often sell out with speed – ensure to book in advance to enjoy discounts and ensure entry.
